Job Summary
Our Truck Drivers are responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of lumber products to our customers. This role requires adherence to all safety regulations, precise delivery schedules, and excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have experience driving curtain-side trailers and a commitment to maintaining high standards of vehicle operation and customer satisfaction.
Key Functions
- Safely operate a CDL-class truck with curtain-side trailers to transport lumber products to various customer locations across the eastern seaboard.
- Ensure all loads are properly secured and protected, maintaining the quality and integrity of the lumber during transit.
- Adhere to delivery schedules, ensuring timely arrivals at customer sites.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, ensuring they are in good working order and comply with all DOT regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and delivery documentation as required by company policies and federal regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service at delivery points, ensuring that customers' needs are met and addressing any concerns or issues promptly.
- Communicate effectively with the logistics team regarding delivery status, delays, or other issues that may arise during transport.
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a commercial truck driver.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent driving skills and ability to operate large vehicles safely in various weather and traffic conditions.
- Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members.
- Ability to handle physical tasks, including loading and unloading lumber as needed.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional overnight trips if required.
