Our hardwoods appear in many of the finest places.

Sustainability

Interest in green or sustainable initiatives continues to grow as our customers and in turn their customers, request woods from responsible resources. Some of our customers in the construction industry are also selecting materials to help them achieve LEED certification for their commercial or residential buildings.

Prime Lumber Company is committed to implementing and continually achieving conformance to sustainable forestry practices.

Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC)® was launched in 1993 as a response to global deforestation and is represented in more than 50 countries. It is a non-profit, independent and non-governmental agency that certifies forests on strict environmental and social criteria. To receive certification, applicants must prevent forest conversion for other uses, not use genetically altered woods, respect the human rights of indigenous people and international workers, follow laws and allow no corruption, and identify areas that need special protection (endangered habitats for animals and plants or cultural or sacred sites). FSC products are accompanied by chain of custody documents and strict tracking. Prime Lumber Company's Sustained Yield policy is available upon request.

Within our company we take steps to recycle all of our wood waste into mulch, wood pellets or boiler fuel.
